Steenbergs Organic Cardamom Powder is ground in small batches from the organic cardamom seeds that are extracted from the larger organic cardamom pods. Organic cardamom is prized by Indian, Middle Eastern and Scandinavian cooks. There is nothing quite like the smell of ground organic cardamom with its wonderful sweet, spicy, warm and aromatic character that lifts rice puddings, sweet potatoes and carrots, as well as being essential for many curries. Steenbergs organic ground cardamom (or organic cardamom powder) predominantly comes from the forest gardens in Sri Lanka but also from Guatemala. Steenbergs is an artisan spice company based in rural North Yorkshire, just north of the cathedral city of Ripon specialising in organic and ethically traded spices and herbs.
